It's a bold way of looking at urban renewal and sustainability through a platform of creativity and culture.
2 Ionic Avenue in Worcester was once a vital community asset. Built by a generous industrialist in 1914, this magnificent, 30,000SF space was once a haven for youth and one of the original 15 Boys Clubs in the US.
For as little as 25 cents, boys could engage in a wide range of structured activities that also included vocational classes. For many children of working-class families, this Club was a rich social environment. It was also a safe place for hundreds of children of immigrant families who had moved to the area during the manufacturing boom.
We ask that each member of the Worcester community to make a reflective and meaningful commitment to the Campaign for 2 Ionic Ave. A variety of opportunities for gifts at every level are available. Gifts may be made in cash, checks or automatic bank withdrawals. Some may choose to make a large single gift to this effort; others have requested a payment schedule which, over time, will allow them to extend the limits of their generosity and commitment.
These gifts can be made in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual installments. Please see the pledge chart below. You may contact the Executive Director of Creative Hub Worcester with question regarding your pledge dollars.
